Different from traditional "round-to-square" tube forming way (it first forms a round tube and then squeezes it into a square or rectangular tube), the direct forming tube mill line directly bends steel strip into an open square or rectangular tube blank by multiple forming rollers. Then high frequency welding and precision sizing will be conducted. And it just uses one set of rollers to produce specific square and rectangular tubes. That only needs to choose corresponding parameters by the microcomputer. Besides, the whole production line is controlled by PLC and servo motors for fully automatic tube forming processing.
1. Lower roller cost: One set of rollers can produce certain square and rectangular tubes without changing different rollers. That reduces roller cost by more than 50%.
2. Lower steel coil cost: Steel strip width of the same square tube is reduced by 2%-4% compared with "round-to-square" forming. That significantly reduces raw material cost for long-term production.
3. Less roller adjusting time: All tube parameters are set into a microcomputer in advance and it just needs to choose them on the screen. Then servo motors will adjust roller position automatically. That can be completed within 1 hour. So, it reduces downtime by 80%.
4. Less power consumption: There’s no secondary squeezing of round tube to square or rectangular tube with lower forming resistance. And total power consumption is reduced by 20% at least.
